goals. We are required by law to give you this privacy notice.

parties who receive nonpublic information from us as we conduct
the business of the credit union.

Information we receive from you on an application or other
forms;
Information about your transactions with us or others; and
Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency.
Information obtained when verifying the information
you provide on an application form. This may be obtained from
your current or past employers, or from other institutions
you conduct business with. We may disclose all of the information
we collect as described above, as permitted by law.
Parties Who Receive Information from Us
We
may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the
following types of third parties:
Financial companies, such as insurance companies
and mortgage service companies
Non-financial companies, such as consumer reporting
agencies, retailers data processors, check / share draft printers,
financial statement printers, plastic card processors, direct
marketers and government agencies.
Disclosure of Information to Parties that Provide Services to Us
We
may disclose all of the information we collect, as described
above to the companies that perform marketing or other services
on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom
we have joint marketing agreements. We only work with companies
who agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and
limit the use of information we provide. As a result of these
arrangements, we may disclose all of the information we collect,
as described above. We may also disclose information about
you under other circumstances as permitted or required by
law. These disclosures typically include information to process
transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our
credit union, follow your instructions as you authorize or
protect the security of our financial records. We do
not permit these companies to sell the information we provide
to other third parties.
Disclosure of Information About Former Members
If
you terminate your membership or become an inactive member,
we will adhere to the privacy policies and practices as described
in this notice. We do not disclose any nonpublic information
about you to anyone, except as permitted by law.
How We Protect Your Information
Augusta Metro FCU restricts access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
What Members Can Do to Help

Metro FCU is committed to protecting the privacy of its members.
Members can help by following these simple guidelines:
Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs (personal identification numbers) and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your debit or credit card which can provide free access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.
Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. to other persons. If someone calls you, explains the call is on behalf of the credit union and asks for your account number, you should beware. Official credit union staff will have access to your information and will not need to ask for it.
Keep your information with us current. It is important that we have current information on how to reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use of an account, we will attempt to contact you immediately. If your address or phone number changes, please let us know.

Metro Federal Credit Union takes a proactive approach to protecting
the information of our Website visitors. The information from
persons visiting our site is collected for statistical purposes
only. We create summary statistics from the collected information
that is used only to improve the content of our site and its
delivery to our members. We collect no information that would
identify you personally. When you send us personally identifying
information, by e-mail or by filling out an on-line form that
e-mails us this information, the information is used only
to fulfill or respond to your requests. We may forward your
e-mail to other Credit Union employees who are better able
to respond to your request. However, the information is never
released to other organizations unless required by law and
is in no way used for profiling purposes.
NOTE regarding the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child.
Augusta Metro FCU does not currently collect any such personal information regarding visitors to the website - children or otherwise. |
